Mozilla Scalable Vector Graphics
Bad news
- Still not nearly as complete as Adobe SVG plugin
- Declarative animations, filters, gradient fills still missing
- Still have some small bugs impacting compatibility in big way
- Still not switched on by default
Good news
- Development branch has landed on trunk
- Many annoying bugs fixed, e.g. colour & mimetype issues under linux
- Presentation attributes (fill='red' instead of style='fill:red;') now work
- More features implemented, e.g. viewBox attribute (but still not preserveAspect)
- Text support on Windows & Linux
- Works in XUL templates (xulsvg1.xul)
- Rendering backend now pluggable, doxygen-docs on croczilla.com
- Libart & GDI+ backends, and new Cairo-based rendering backend by Tim Rowley (IBM)
- Quartz renderer - Peter?
So...
- If you haven't checked it out in a long time, consider giving it another go
- Even got an SVG Tetris clone now
- Need more developers!
