zap! - the Mozilla SIP Client

Zap is a project sponsored by 8x8 Inc. Our goal is to produce an open-source, stand-alone, xulrunner-based SIP client using Mozilla as a platform.

SIP - the IETF's Session Initiation Protocol - is a protocol for negotiating peer-to-peer media sessions between two or more users.

If you are upgrading from a previous release please delete your profile directory! (Unfortunately you will loose all of your configuration data, contacts, call-history and identities - proper profile migration will be implemented in an upcoming release.)
On Windows XP, the profile directory is usually located at
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Zap\Profiles\xxxxxx.default\
On Linux, the profile directory is usually located at
~/.mozilla/zap/xxxxxxxx.default/
