Whenever I try a call, I receive an alert saying
"<sip:anonymous(at)test.com> is not a valid sip address! Please check
Identity setup..."

After a correct startup, the log should say:

[UI] Initializing Sip Client...
[UI] Getting SDP Service
[UI] Constructing Sip UA Stack
[UI] ...Sip Client Initialization done.

and the 'Host' field' should have your ip address.

You are right, there is an error in the log:

[UI] Error during Sip Client initialization: TypeError:
Components.classes['(at)mozilla.org/zap/sipstack;1'] has no properties

Linux on an old laptop:

Zap currently does a name resolution on the hostname. If the hostname is
not resolvable by DNS, the sip stack initialization fails. I will
rectify this problem shortly, but in the meantime what you could do is
enter the hostname with its address in /etc/hosts/.
