I have at least one report of the installation failing.
I've been able to install it on my dad's machine, but it doesn't work I
get two errors : one saying javascript error the second saying I have a
profile problem. I'll investigate and let you know.
As anyone installed Zap on Os X successfully yet ?

I've also had no luck on an imac running OS X 10.3.9
I untarred the archive, moved the XUL.framework folder into
/Library/Frameworks, then did the command you mention in the readme file:
/Library/Frameworks/XUL.framework/xulrunner-bin --install-app ../xpi-stage/zap
It seems to think about it for a few seconds, then the command returns..
no feedback.
It doesn't seem to create a mozilla folder in the /Applications directory
either..
Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I need to install prior to
installing this framework that I've missed out on.
Being an OSX newbie, I'm also at a loss for where to find error logs..
I'd be grateful for clues, and can test it out on another couple of boxes
people have here running OSX.
Cheers,
Saul.

Hi All,
On Sat, Jul 22, 2006 at 02:18:45PM +0100, Saul Albert wrote:[...]
Sorry, stupid of me. I changed the ../xpi-stage/zap bit of the command to
point at the distribution I had downloaded to my Desktop.
It works.. and creates the /Applications/Mozilla/Zap.app
I run this and get a little window saying '[Javascript Application]
Profile Error! and an 'ok' dialog.
when I say 'ok' to this, I get the familiar zap window, but it's kind of
blank apart from the basic layout, the menus don't load and it doesn't
really do anything...
But it's a great improvement on nothing!
I'll keep playing with it and let you know how I get on.
Cheers, and thanks Ludovic, for your continued work on this.
Saul.

/Library/Frameworks/XUL.framework/xulrunner-bin --install-app zap

hi Ludovic,
On Sat, Jul 22, 2006 at 03:35:14PM +0200, Ludovic Hirlimann wrote:[...]
It does work, thanks. Also, more to report:
After getting a 'profile error', I tried copying my Zap profile from a
working account on my linux box into the
/Zap.app/Contents/Resources/defaults .. as it seemed to be missing..
Then I fired up Zap and ... wahey! A recognizable, interactive Zap window
that actually seems (at first) to work!
Unfortunately, it still seems a bit broken, although this is very
encouraging. I can't create an identity (when I go to that option in the
interface and enter anything apart from the default
sip:thisis(at)anonymous.invalid into the 'Address of record' feild, it
highlights the address I'm writing in red and greys out the 'Create
identity' button at the bottom of the window, so I can't proceed....
I also don't seem to be able to make calls to the local echo test (I get
'Invalid Sip Address' whatever I try to call.
I'm going to try a few more things, but this seems pretty close!
Well done Ludovic, and keep going!
PS: Do you want a copy of my profile folder (containing calls.rdf,
config.rdf, contacts.rdf, identities.rdf and sidebar.rdf) to play with?
Cheers,
Saul.
