SIP Emergency Call support for Zap!

Hi!

I want to inform you that I'm working on an extension for Zap! to
support the IETF's emergency call framework.
Emergency calls must be connected to the Public Safety Answering Point
that is responsible for the current location of the caller. Therefore,
the SIP Client needs location information. So I added location
configuration to Zap!. For determining the correct Public Safety
Answering Point (for fire, police, ambulance and other services), the
Location-to-Service Translation Protocol, that is ongoing work at the
IETF, is used. An emergency call is detected by the dial string (e.g.
911 or 112). An emergency call conveys the caller's location
information to the Public Safety Answering Point, in order to dispatch
responders to that location.

Further information, links to the IETF documents and the download of
the emergency call enhanced Zap! version is available at
http://ecrit.labs.nic.at
Comments and feedback appreciated.

regards

Hi Karl,

This is great news! I saw the emails on the Geopriv WG m.-l. sometimes
ago, and I had on my todo list to contact you about this. Would you be
willing to send a patch of your modifications (under the same licenses
than Zap), so we can review and commit it in the CVS repository?

Thanks.
